Strategic Solutions was founded in 2001 by Bill Lopez and Jay Strickland with decades of demonstrated performance in developing, operating and improving information technology systems and delivering return on investment (ROI) in a wide range of global industries.

Today most organizations recognize the value of information technology in reducing cost and improving performance. The challenge is in efficient implementation and integration of these technologies. The solution is developing a strategic relationship with a trusted partner. Our Leadership

William J. Strickland, Jr.

Principal

As a Co-Founder of SSVA, Jay has been focused on leveraging his deep healthcare, technology and engineering skills in assisting SSVA’s clients with realizing the optimized business value from their technology investments.

Jay’s career spans over 20 years of consistent, demonstrated, and award-based performance in structuring, implementing and managing the operations of information systems in business and healthcare settings.  His former clients and employers include but are not limited to Capital One, Philip Morris, Virginia Department of Health, and numerous Health Care providers – all of which have trusted Jay to manage their technical and strategic needs.

Mr. Strickland is former board chairman of the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he has volunteered for 15 years and is currently a Commander with the Metro 11 Disaster Task Force for the Virginia Department of Health. He is a member of the Richmond Medical Group Managers Association and the Greater Richmond Technology Council.

Mr. Strickland completed the extensive requirements for the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) designation from Cisco Systems. He attended the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University.

F. William Lopez

Principal

As a co-founder of SSVA, Bill Lopez is responsible for helping businesses and healthcare practices evaluate, plan, develop and improve business processes and systems to ensure they appropriately support business goals and improve productivity.

Mr. Lopez is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of demonstrated performance in planning and implementing business systems in a wide range of industries including professional services manufacturing, information technology, telecommunications, and healthcare. His expertise includes comprehensive development experience with multiple software and hardware platforms. He is also experienced in project management, project performance enhancement and issue resolution, business process improvement, compressed voice, video and data collaboration, ROI analysis of projects and systems and information security.

Prior to co-founding Strategic Solutions in 2001, Mr. Lopez held various systems engineering, systems analysis and technical positions with several departments within the Commonwealth of Virginia , as well as national and international companies including Philip Morris, Capital One, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He is a member of the Richmond Medical Group Managers Association, the Society of Cable Television Engineers, and the Greater Richmond Technology Council. He is a former member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

Mr. Lopez has attained numerous professional designations and certifications to include: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) PMG Network Architect Certification, and PMG Cross-Technology Certification from Pine Mountain Group. Mr. Lopez attended the University of Richmond, where he excelled in E-Commerce and Information Technology Systems.

Scott Mayo

President

As president of SSVA, Scott is responsible for providing strategic direction, operations, financials, and marketing leadership.  Scott joined SSVA in August of 2011, and has a proven 25 year growth track record in small, medium and large IT and Management Consulting organizations.

Prior to joining SSVA, Scott was Senior Vice President of Business Development at Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group realizing tremendous growth and transformation of the business during a 3 and a half year tenure.  Scott also worked for Keane as SVP of southern and western operations, and part of a transformation leadership team expanding and re-engineering its service offerings.  Over the past 10 years, Scott has played integral leadership roles including a select position on SSVA’s original board of advisors when the company was founded in 2001.

Scott spent the first 10 years of his career in a technical capacity as a developer, project manager and program manager for several different consulting firms.  Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Susquehanna University, and attended graduate school at the University of Miami.
